Fo Real!

Lebron is probably the second coming of Jordan. With less than 30 seconds left in the fourth period of Game 1 and down by two, Lebron drives, gets fouled by the league's Defensive Player (Howard) and King James floats one a la Jordan/Dr. J into the hoop. Of course, he makes the free throw to complete the 3-point play.

Orlando comes down and makes a clutch 3-pointer from downtown. Let's see how King James responds with 14.7 seconds remaining being down 107-106...

Homey had to dish and no clutch shot for Cleveland with a jump ball with 1 second left.

Doh...Cleveland loses.

Still, brother James is da shit, fo realz. Game 2 should be great as Cleveland was off for 8 days following its second series sweep in the playoffs.

Still pissed off...

That they lost control of the White House and Congress...when will the Republicans and fellow right-wingers get over it and actually help fix/clean up the mess they made?

Colbert's 435-part series

It's quite comical that Congressmen and women are not so prepared nor informed when deciding to sit down with Stephen Colbert. They should know that Colbert is quick and smart and can trip up the best of them. It's great to see how our elected officials squirm on his show.

Kelly Lin

Might have a decent body but she's a bad actress, especially in the movie 'Running Out of Time 2'. Miss Lin, having emigrated from Taiwan to Santa Barbara when she was 12 and graduating from UC, speaks horrible Cantonese and bad Engrish too. I wonder what she did to whom to break into the Hong Kong movie scene.

Were this blog in HK, I might get spanked by the underground folks. hahahahahahahaha...

Other comments about that shitty movie.

-they followed a CGI bald eagle to some warehouse whereby the protagonist started to chase the 'antagonist'; the chase's next scene was in the middle of Central
-during the chase it was raining hard, but only in front of the camera
-during the chase, neither person was drenched
-during the chase, movie extras are both carrying umbrellas and sporting dry clothes
-during the chase, cars are dry as are the streets amidst the rain except the last scene when bother are still dry

Thank goodness, the movie only cost C$2.00.

Knuckleheads

Or Ignoramuses?

I don't doubt that there are positive and wonderful religious folks who find comforting passages in their holy books to live a constructive and morally correct life while being in tune with the times.

But DAMMIT!, these fucking idiots just reflect poorly on Americans, believers and non-believers. Did they fucking forget about the so-called "Melting Pot"? America once welcomed folks who helped to build this country. Somehow along the way, ignorant and arrogant bible-thumpers deluded themselves into thinking that (i) the U.S. is a Christian Nation (FUCK NO! Never was.), (ii) there's a Rapture coming for them (kind of selfish eh? And where did this Rapture shit come from?) and (iii) Islam and its prophet, Muhammad, are evil (had they actually did some research, they'd realized that the Koran reveres their main man, J.C., and one could deduce that they share the same God). Dumb delusional fucks!

I've been watching History Channel's latest series on the Seven Sins (caught anger, sloth, gluttony and envy). While intended to guide social behavior, it's so outdated. The funny thing is that it is NOT a part of the Bible. Just guidelines put together by some monk in 375 A.D. and refined by Pope Gregory The Great.

Were these schmoes truly Christian, they would realize that they're committing the sin of Ira, Superbia and Gula. Definitely fast-tracking to Hell, n'est pas?

Sam Harris so got it right: "Religion raises the stakes of human conflict much higher than tribalism, racism, or politics ever can, as it is the only form of in-group/out-group thinking that casts the differences between people in terms of eternal rewards and punishments."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY T-BILL!

***MUAH MUAH MUAH*****

Welcome to Club 39!

Jon Stewart is DA MAN!!!!!

Thankfully, Jon Stewart is both smart and affable enough to fight for the common man who doesn't know jackshit about finance or politics. If you haven't seen what the many news outlets have labeled as the War of Words between The Daily Show and CNBC, I posted the videos below from www.thedailyshow.com.

While many folks, especially Fox News and their band of ignoramuses in denial, will try to paint Stewart as a whiny liberal schmuck, viewers should take a moment to digest what's being said and mocked by Stewart of the real-world difficulties.

Here's an article from The Chicago Tribune:

Frozen Peach

It's snowing in Atlanta!!! Huge ass cornflaks too! The locals were bugging out last night over reports that it might snow. Just before noon today, it started coming down but wasn't accumulating. After lunch at the Flying Biscuit, there appeared to be about 1.5 inches of fluff everywhere. The locals were amzaed and taking pictures as if hell hath indeed frozen over. The accumulation doesn't appear to hold up as it's warmng up a bit. Hopefully, it won't make for difficult driving in twelve hours.

GOP Response

Last night was just sad. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. Both Democrats and Republicans were shaking their heads on Bobby Jindal's coming-out weak-ass response to Obama's address to Congress. Bobby should have been down on Bourbon Street throwing back some bourbon.

Moments later, I was watching bits of Larry King, which I never do, as I saw a familiar face: former NBA hoopster Kevin Johnson, now Mayor of Sacramento. They were discussing Obama's speech and the sole Republican protagonist was Rep. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee.

I cannot come to any conclusion other than that she is a dolt and a mouthpiece of the right. She said nothing constructive other than to utter her party's platform of tax cuts and reducing federal government spending. UGH!

Are the Republicans in such denial that THEY are the ones who spent like the dollar was going out of style when their homies blew up the federal government in the last eight years? Tax cuts aren't the fucking answer to our economy's ills. I suppose these conservatives are trying to conserve their loot after looting the government.

Here's a nice editorial from Dilbert:

Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin are perhaps the best actors on primetime television today. Tonight's show rocked! Salma Hayek did a great job, especially remarking on public comments by other actresses on how beautiful and enviable her boobs are.

Bailout Plan Revisited

I do not side with the Republicans on their more tax cuts and the federal government should do nothing stance to fix the economy. However, I think the bailout funds are misdirected since it focuses on shoring up bank capital so that lending will begin again.

Even with the capital injection, the banks won't lend because their credit standards have tightened. This means credit analysts and loan officers will stringently scrutinize prospective borrowers' ability to repay. If borrowers already have debt, whether moderate or sizeable, the banks won't lend the money; thus, defeating the intended effect of providing credit to stimulate the economy. President Obama continues to say that he wants to put more money into the taxpayers' hands, the best way is to inject capital into the taxpayers' accounts. We could use OUR money to reduce debt (which enhances creditworthiness), increase savings (deposits into banks), pay bills (indirect funding to companies) and spend a little (elevate sales throughout the economy).

The worries that taxpayers are not prudent and will spend more than they have are well founded as evidenced by our large debt load and expenditures in excess of means. However, in these times, taxpayers are certainly more concerned with being able to make it through the recession. They will focus on paying bills to be current with creditors and putting food on the table. Moreover, with tighter credit parameters, they hey-days of wanton lending are gone as banks won't just approve any application to build a portfolio given their substantial losses from prior practices.

The federal government should focus on infrastructure projects that build energy-efficient structures (outfitting buildings to save energy, widening/resurfacing major roads to improve mileage and reduce repairs, etc.), promote education to recapture America's once sterling lead in brainpower (contrary to the right's desire for masses of unquestioning dumb-asses in trying to recapture the government) and increase research facilities with incentives and penalties to lower health care costs while producing advanced life-saving technologies or medicine.

Tax cuts can come later once the economy has pulled out of this incredible slump. Tax cuts do NOT help when sales, profits and incomes are plummeting. They will be greatly welcomed and appreciated once everyone, corporations and, especially, taxpayers, become more liquid from profits and incomes.

Republicans need to present better alternatives than their standard soapbox economic model of tax cuts. It takes courage to govern and lead for the greater good than being conservatively selfish for themselves only. Move forward fuckers.

Pepperoni Mashed Potatoes

Out of boredom and some hunger, I made Pepperoni Mashed Potatoes.

I boiled 9 potatoes for 40 minutes with salt. The mix included ground garlic powder, ground black pepper, ground cayenne pepper, ground oregano and Adobo along with 1/4 cup of half-and-half. I warmed up the sliced pepperoni with boiling water, about 30 seconds before straining them and adding the the already mashed potatoes.

It tastes good. A little kick from the cayenne. Next time, I'll add butter.

Half Past Dead

Is a 2002 movie with Steven Seagal and Ja Rule. The latter person is probably the crappiest punk/thug to ever grace the screen. DMX was a tad better than him. Why do these rappers-actor-wannabes need to have such thuggish and flashy roles?

It was so unfortunate that the hottie Nia Peeples was shot dead, she was a baddie. She did her own kicks and beat the shit out of Ja Rule, quite fantastic. I'd bet she could do it in real life as well.

The top two rappers-turned-actors are definitely the Ice Homeys (T and Cube).

Message to Senator Charles Schumer

Sir,

I refer you to my blog of 20 November 2008 here: http://dmonyar.blogspot.com/2008_11_20_archive.html. I will post this message on my blog today as well.

The idea hit me that November morning while tired and after a strong cup of coffee. The government is bailing out the wrong folks. We, the taxpayers, should get the money so that we can pay bills, put some away in savings and spend a little on necessities.

Money going to corporations bypass us taxpayers because the prevailing idea is that corporations which have been helped will help the consumers. Unfortunately, that train of thought is wrecked as is evidenced by the current state of our economy. They're not hiring (firing instead) and are trying to figure out ways to unload inventory (which we taxpayers can't afford to buy). We taxpayers have a double bullseye on us: stagnant pay and unemployment (no pay; thus, no spending).

With money going to corporations, how do we taxpayers/consumers benefit? Will the corporations make better products which they will sell to us at a lower price? No, they're in the business of making as much money as possible. No help to us. Will it cause them to hire? No, they rather sit on the money until the economy turns for the better, but the question is when. So, still no help to the taxpayers. This is the first bullseye.

The second bullseye is that we, the taxpayers, are on the hook through future tax increases to pay for this bailout. It is inevitable given the misuse of our tax money. The Treasury won't disclose where the earlier bailout money has gone. Abuse of our bailout tax dollars have been reported already. We taxpayers are getting virtually nothing for our money. If the money went to us, we'd at least could pay bills (to prevent delinquencies/foreclosures while payments passes through to corporations, aka lenders and banks), put some away to wait out the downturn (money in the banks <-- the banks get low cost funds for future prudent lending) and spend on necessary products (money is put back into the system to generate sales, consider that Walmart saw sales increases over the holiday season given their price advantage).

The obvious conclusion is that OUR tax dollars would be better spent if given to the taxpayers instead of corporations which don't provide US relief or benefit.

Sir, I met you once at Chinatown fund raising event in 2005. It was a brief handshake as you made your way through the dining room to greet the other local dignitaries. I believe my idea is one that will greatly benefit not only New York but our beloved country. Should you be in New York City soon, I hope you will grant me an audience of 15 minutes so that I can give you a more detailed outline of this proposal.

You are my Senator and have access to my President-elect Obama, who seeks positive and innovative ideas to rehabilitate and reinvigorate this country. I am sure I can persuade you of this economic solution which you could present to President-elect Obama whom we all believe and want to fix our nation's economic woes.

Having read that $7.7 trillion (NY Daily News, 25 November 2008: http://www.nydailynews.com/money/2008/11/25/2008-11-25_what_could_we_buy_if_we_werent_funding_t.html) is the cost of the bailout as estimated by Bloomberg News, my idea costs a smaller $1.55 trillion. Even at $3.1 trillion through doubling it to provide greater relief and help to the taxpayers, it is still less than 50% of Bloomberg News' estimates. The taxpaying people need the help more than tax-averse corporations do.

I hope you read this message and seriously consider my proposal. I am optimistic that any conversation you may have with your economic staff about this will produce various "hmmm, that's a decent out-of-the-box idea" looks. Sir, the economy has been blown out-of-the-box and we need out-of-the-box solutions.

Your fellow taxpaying American and State of New York constituent.

Heart Melter

When I was a young boy
My mama said to me
There's only one girl in the world for you
And she probably lives in Tahiti

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Just to find her

Or maybe she's in the Bahamas
Where the Carribean sea is blue
Weeping in a tropical moonlit night
Because nobody's told her 'bout you

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Find out where they hide her

Why am I hanging around in the rain out here
Trying to pick up a girl
Why are my eyes filling up with these lonely tears
When there are girls all over the world

Is she lying on a tropical beach somewhere
Underneath the tropical sun
Pining away in a heatwave there
Hoping that I won't be long

I should be lying on that sun-soaked beach with her
Caressing her warm brown skin
And then in a year or maybe not quite
We'll be sharing the same next of kin

I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Just to find her
I'd go the whole wide world
I'd go the whole wide world
Find out where they hide her

Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric

Admittedly, 'Stranger Than Fiction' was a good movie. I wish I had been on a date.

Why bailouts for corporations?

It dawned on me this morning that any federal money to be used to bail out corporations most likely won't help the U.S. economy because it sort of rewards, or saves the asses, of companies gone bad. Federal money, which is really the taxpayers' money and, to a large degree, borrowed dollars from foreign entities, should be used to bail out or help our citizens.

Mr. President-elect Obama, I hope your advisors find this post and bring it to your attention. I'm not the greatest nor brightest of minds nor am I an iota as smart as you or any of your advisors. However, it occurred to me while reading the Wall Street Journal this morning that federal money can be better spent by returning it to the taxpayers. Why?

Because:

-Taxpayers can ease their burdens (bills, credit card debt and mortgage) if we receive tax relief
-With burdens eased, alleviated, mitigated or brought to very manageable levels, taxpayers would likely start spending again (to stimulate the economy) or put money away should a depression set in over the near term (to increase the overall savings)
-Companies/corporations, upon realizing that they're not going to get help, will be forced to restructure or reorganize to improve its operations and introduce better products
-As taxpayers (a.k.a. consumers) will have liquidity, they'll choose higher quality and/or valued products; thus, forcing businesses to innovate and to cut costs (consider how long U.S. carmakers have been making so-so cars; this certainly would push them off their lazy asses to offer more fuel efficient products)
-Instead of banks getting capital injections from the Fed to promote lending, give taxpayers/potential borrowers the liquidity so that lenders will fight to provide loans (because potential borrowers have been credit-enhanced) but under prudent lending standards, which should be reviewed and monitored so that we don't have another credit meltdown or loan fiasco

Politically,
-You will own up to your words of providing tax relief to the middle and lower class who make up the engine of this great nation
-You were elected by us under the message of "Change" and "Hope"; the aforementioned tax refund to citizenry will be a major CHANGE from the historical lobbying that has pulled money away from the people and, once the people has received their refundss, we will have the eased HOPE of a brighter future
-We, the People, would rather have federal money sent our way instead of propping up mismanaged companies because we cringe at our situations not changing as billions, possibly trillions, of dollars are spent to which we have to ultimately pay for it
-We, Main Streeters, need the money to put food on our tables, pay for the roofs over our heads, dress our children and maintain health insurance for our families
-America needs you to reinvest, reinvigorate and renovate our country and this tax repayment to the citizenry is perhaps the best alternate out there: spend the money on us!

How?
A potentially fair way to refund money to the citizenry is based on the last three years' of tax filing. All taxpayers will receive money, including the affluent. Consider the following distribution:

Average of 3 years' filing (Adjusted Taxable Income or ATI):

Fiscal 2005 (000s)
Income Range Households Max. Refund Max. Payout

The above income ranges and households are based on the 2006 U.S. Census Economic Survey. The maximum staggering cost is $1.553 trillion dollars. How much has the government set aside to help companies? $700 billion for TARP, $144 billion for CPFF and $135 billion for AIG, about $979 billion. Mr. President-elect Obama, the needs of the many many American FAR outweigh the needs of the few. It's embarrassing that AIG executives threw lavish parties and set aside $503 million for bonuses just as they got $85 billion in help. Fellow Americans had to fret about the next meal and how we're going to pay bills. It's wrong that carmakers flew private jets to beg for money. Bills are piling up and Americans getting more fearful. If we get the refunds, we will have the relief you promised. Otherwise, I worry that, given our native need to survive, crime may go up. Please soothe and ease our fears.

We do not need more FEAR as has been drilled into us during the last eight years. Give us the CHANGE so we can all HOPE again.

Blu-ray

Netflix isn't releasing new blu-ray movies fast enough that I picked Zombie Strippers with Jenna Jameson. Holy shit, it's the worst movie I've seen. Jenna still has a nice body, namely her butt and legs. I'm not impressed by her fake boobs or the excessive makeup. The guys who were selected to be in the movie probably had a great time, especially the one who got the private lap-dance...until Jenna's zombie character bite his dick off.

Up next in the queue are Starship Troopers 2 and 3, the straight to video movies of the commercial bomb.

But it's blu-ray...

Proud to be AMERICAN

President Obama better deliver on his promise because I gave him my vote.

The sniveling right-wing better want to work with him to restore America's image and prestige. They ought to look back to 1994 when they took over Congress and hassled Clinton. They were given the power to make change but they wrecked America, led by their head douchebag, W. The 2008 elections are proof that Americans are sick of the Republican bullshit.

Go Obama! Get your shit on!
